Conceptual Works
This was a mock-up for a new Ducati store in an existing Seattle office building. The design developed through programming and talking with the employees about their workspace and functionality, and learning the history of the bikes. Both the interior and exterior of the building evolved from the motorcyle’s iconic style. Starting as a hand-made model, and then a virtual one, a complete set of contract documents were then produced in Revit for this mock project.
These perspective and floor plan sketches are of a mock cupcake cafe/store. Hand-drawn in pen and marker on trace paper.
One of my first renderings done in Revit. A classroom exercise to practice outside and indoor artificial lighting techniques on walls and furniture.
I designed this home on Vashon Island, WA to incorporate nature into the living space. It was rendered in Sketchup after hand drawing the floor plans, elevations and sections on trace paper with ink & marker.
Custom new deck design, with built-in BBQ, bar, and fire pit areas. Sketchup.
Screened in porch design with new deck design. Sketchup.
Sketch of cathedral on site in Senlis, France. 5 hours to complete. Drawn in ink on Vellum.
Still life sketched in graphite on vellum paper.
Conceptual kitchen design for owners who were considering a kitchen remodel; done in Sketchup.
The owners of this home wanted a kitchen custom designed around their 2 large dogs. I designed a kitchen island with raised food bowls and extra large clearance between the island and cabinets to accommodate their wide girth.
This Colorado homeowner had a full remodel done on her home, and wanted several options for new tile work in her bathrooms. Both bathrooms have beautiful stained glass windows, which she wanted tied into the color scheme and design. I hand drew these elevations and plans on trace paper and used marker to add color for reference.
These floor plans were exercises in commercial space planning. The first is a restaurant; the second is a retail fly-fishing store. Research had to be done on the various locations to learn what would be needed in each plan, and how best to utilize the space, and design traffic patterns.
